Swimming-Monahan completes Lake Geneva swim as part of record bid

EVIANS-LES-BAINS, France, Aug 26 (Reuters) - American swimmer Jaimie Monahan, pictured here, swam across Lake Geneva on Sunday as part of her bid to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest person to complete six marathon swims on as many continents.

The swim from Lausanne on the Swiss side of the lake to Evians-les-Bains on the French side was the fifth out of the six stages, leaving her only with the New York leg -- from Manhattan to Coney Island -- to complete. That had been scheduled to be the first stage but was postponed because of bad weather.
