Maharashtra: 51 Autism children dive in deep see for first time, win the Malvan Open Swimming competition

The ninth edition of the Malvan Open Sea Swimming Competition was held recently at Chivla Beach in Maharashtra but what special about this year’s event is that for the first in India, over 50 children with autism took part in the competition.

It was for the first time in India that a deep sea swimming competition was organised for children with disabilities. The 51 children who came from Pune, Nashik, Mumbai and Thane competed under the special category and swam 1 km in the deep sea.
