Abersoch RNLI New Years Dip 2010, Great Britain

Once again Abersoch RNLI will be holding its annual sponsored Fancy Dress New Year's Day Dip at 12 noon, January 1st, 2010.

This is just a reminder to make sure you see in the New Year here in Abersoch, there are always lots of parties, then celebrate New Year's Day either with a refreshing dip in the sea, or (easy option!) cheering on the brave souls.

As usual the Club will be organising the Annual New Year Days swim at St Catherine’s Breakwater on the 1st January 2010. The ice will be broken at 11 am for those brave enough to venture in. Meet on the slip at 10.45. Hot soup and drinks will be provided and be sure to bring along warm clothing and hot water bottles.

The 24th annual Loony Dook, South Queensferry, Great Britain

The 24th annual Loony Dook will take place as usual on 1 January 2010.  Participants should be at The Moorings Lounge, Hopetoun Road, South Queensferry between 9.30am and 11.30am on 1 January for registration and the Dook will take place at 12 noon.  There is no need for a medical nor to complete registration documents.  The event is free but you will be asked to make a voluntary donation to charity. Join over 500 swimmers and help save a life, whilst experiencing the thrill of swimming in the beautiful British Sea!

This great event which last year saw record numbers of over 500 people take on the 1 mile offshore swim is back again for 2010.

You will be able to experience swimming along the sandy waters edge of beautiful Weymouth Bay whilst raising money for the British heart Foundation.

The swim will start at 9.30am and registration will open at 8am.

All participants will receive a free swim hat ready for the day.
